Sorry about being away last week. I was SO exhausted from Pet Day, that I just needed a little time to recharge. Things are getting back to normal at the house. This is another busy week for me. My coworker fell last Thursday night at work and broke her foot. Now, she is tangled in all of the worker's comp mess. She is still waiting, today, to even get into see an orthopedist!

At lunch today, a coworker, I dare to say a “friend” made the statement, “I don’t know how a white person can vote for Obama.”

Go ahead, let that sink in for awhile…..I’m still trying to make sense of it.

This afternoon as my coworker Duane and I were meeting downtown with the ad agency working on our new logo, a storm started kicking up outside. It was just beginning to rain as we got up to leave, and the wind was fierce. I, of course, was wearing a billowy skirt that hit just above the knee. That is, when the wind isn’t gusting — in the wind, it hits just above the shoulder.

Oh EXCITEMENT!!!

Most of yesterday and today have been a blur. Right after lunch yesterday, Casey and I received a call from a friend. It seems that 3 little kittens came to their loading dock, on an 18 wheeler from Montgomery, Alabama. They needed somewhere for them to go FAST, before Animal Control picked them up. They had already told the folks that they would take them back and just put them down.

I heard from a coworker that Family Wash was robbed at gunpoint last night. Anyone heard this? He said the robber took the wallets of everyone there.

We almost went there last night, no joke. That’s so weird.

Last night, one hotel guest says to another:

"He speaks well, but I don't think America's ready for a black president."

Seriously. I cringed when I'd hear that talk even a few months ago, but I was able to understand that some folks still thought that way. But now? After he beat Clinton for the Democratic nomination nod?
