I’m a fan of author Christopher Buckley, whose novels are not only biting political satire, but often prove to be amazingly prescient.

Replaced our old microwave (circa 1992) that finally gave out before the holidays. Used a holiday gift cert (thanks tony & brenda!) towards this rockin' red one from Target. Wonder if this one will last 17 years?!

The two other movies I saw over break were slightly less conversation provoking: Doubt and Valkyrie. I shall explain:

Senator Frist has decided not to seek the office of Governor.  You know, Senator Frist kept his term limit pledge and earned enormous respect for keeping his word.  He then briefly tested the waters of a Presidential run and found the waters too cool.

Tomorrow I will take down my Christmas tree, which is one of the worst household chores EVER. Seriously, I'd rather scrub the toilet. I don't like decorating my tree that much, but I like how it looks when it's done, so I put it up every year, but yeah really HATE taking that booger down. But alas, it must be done, so done it will be, and then the room will look nekkid.
