It's anybody's guess whether Governor Rod "Maniac" Blago will actually resign today.

When oil tanked and gas prices fell (along with the housing market, 401Ks and the economy in general) my wife and I made a bet as to how far they’d fall. (We established a Mapco near our house as the standard).

My guess? $1.84. No lower.

She bet it’d fall to at least $1.73, maybe further.

And, as usual, she’s right…

I found this image on another website with a request for help in identification. I usually am pretty good at identifying birds but am stuck somewhere with no field guides. Helpful info: this bird flocks with house sparrows and acts like a house sparrow. Not-so-helpful lack of info: this bird was sighted somewhere in the lower 48 or Canada but I have no further knowledge of where.

If you have watched The Tonight Show with Jay Leno very often you have probably seen the segment called “jaywalking”. In this segment, Leno interviews people on the street, the objective of which is to find humor in showing how ignorant people are.

It appears as if the Liberals and New Democrats in Canada are on track to form a coalition government that would oust Prime Minister Stephen Harper and install what a majority of the people of Canada voted for, a Center-Left Government.

While some of the dynamics are similar the influences and conditions are totally new. Who can predict outcomes of any actions? Who knows what will work vs. what will fail? Are we in a global recession or on the verge of a global depression? Our guess is as good as theirs.

Jeff at The Flypaper has a theory about news that Hillary Clinton may be set to become Secretary of State:

My guess is that Secretary of State is what she traded for her full endorsement. She could have kept fighting all the way to the convention. Instead, she worked to get Obama elected.
