The company we work for allows us to leave at 1:30pm on Fridays…for the entire summer. They call it “Summer Friday”. It’s a perk. We use the time to drink beer.

- Success! I sampled the first bottle of my homebrew tonight, and it turned out quite tasty. Well, the [bleep]ty thing is that it’s a standard issue golden pilsner-style lager, since that’s the mix that came with the kit — will have to brew a good stout or something for the next batch. At which point I’ll be able to properly dub it “JonathAle”.

At some base level, all dictatorial types are hypocrites. Aggrandizing power involves a certain amount of demagoguery, and keeping that power usually involves projecting the societal problems that arise from totalitarian rule on a predictive bogeyman. Whether it’s Hitler and the Jews, or Sharia law, or Pol Pot, it’s always the blame game.
