Day labor is a critical part of many of Nashville's homeless who are willing and able to work but cannot get hired at a traditional job because they lack one or more of the "required" things employers want, such as a phone, an address, an IS and/or a social security card.

It’s four am on Thursday and I’m waiting for my iPod to sync. I feel like I should be doing something more productive than watching the progress bar in iTunes slowly go gray from left to right. It’s taking FOREVER.

When I get bored I find odd things to do. I have drunk (drank, drinked, dronked?…whatever) too much coffee much too late in the day. I really don’t want to watch the World Series right now and I just walked away from reading. My wife is conked out on the couch sawing lumber and I am waiting on the last of our laundry to be done.

For me, insomnia + sex deprivation = prowling online.  I have blogs I read, I have porn I watch, but I repeatedly come back to read the hilarity that is the personals over at Craigslist.

Oh lordy. I've been suffering from a bit of insomnia lately and spend a lot of time late at night surfing, reading and farting around. Maybe I wasn't paying this much attention in 04, but it seems to me that this particular political season, the attack ads and parodies online have been nothing short of spectacular!

In between cups of tea and hacking my brains out, I've been puttering around.  Did not accomplish any great tasks tonight, or today, this week even.  My insomnia is something I've gotten used to, but I occasionally get a decent night here and there.  It's been about two weeks now and my patience is running thin.  It leaves me feeling scattered.  Moving from one thought
