The Donkey’s Mouth took a hiatus from blogging last week as we travelled to Denver for the Democratic National Convention.  And we have pictures from the last night at Mile High Stadium (to be posted later) inluding shots from Bill Richardson, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and of course the fireworks . . . everyone loves fireworks regardless of their political stripes.

Remember when Focus on the Family’s Stuart Shepard asked a question?

Would it be wrong to ask people to pray for “rain of Biblical proportions” to descend on Mile High Stadium to ruin Barack Obama’s acceptance speech?

Not just rain, he clarifies, but “abundant rain! Torrential rain!

The week before the Democratic National Convention, Stuart Shepard of Focus on the Family (James Dobson's outfit) released a video encouraging people to pray for rain "of biblical proportions" on the Thursday night of the convention, when Obama was to give his acceptance speech at Mile High Stadium:

Anyway, Obama rolls like a rock star and his well-run campaign has done an incredible job of energizing a new generation of voters and attracting working-class Americans who are willing to at least take a look at the long-overdue change Obama is selling.

Maybe we can.

Speaking last night to 84,000 wildly cheering Americans at Denver’s Invesco Field (formerly Mile High Stadium), Barack Obama literally scored on every play.

Enclave reports that the folks at MSNBC admit that their choice of camera angle for Barack Obama’s speech was less than ideal:

For the past few minutes, Chuck Todd, Tom Brokaw, Keith Olbermann, and Chris Matthews have been discussing the "sky cam" that MSNBC selected to use at Mile High Stadium (it is usually used for sports, not convention events) was not the choice of the Democratic Party, and they conceded that the Republicans are already using it criticize Barack Obama for trying to make himself look regal.
