NHL training camps open later this month, so naturally the hockey poolies are starting to come out again, scooping up fantasy hockey guides at the bookstores and snooping their way around the internet to get the latest information on player transactions, depth charts, and projections for the upcoming NHL season. Everybody can use a giggle on a Monday morning, so here's a brief clip from last Wednesday's GOAL (Get Out And Learn) session, in which a few dozen kids from ages 4-9 with little to no skating or hockey experience get a basic introduction to the game, courtesy of the Nashville Predators. You can just imagine what happens when they're all lined up along one goal line, and then told to race down to

Schefter is reporting that the Titans think Vince Young tore his MCL.  I am not really sure what that means.  He is expected to have an MRI tomorrow.  We will just have to wait and see what the MRI reveals.

At least one of my three teams started the season off with a win, though they made it as nerve-wracking as humanly possible.

That was pretty much what we expected.  The Titans defense was awesome only allowing the Jaguars to rush for 33 yards.   Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew carried 14 times for 31 yards.  The defense sacked David Garrard 7 times, and Cortland Finnegan picked him off twice.  The only TD they allowed came off of a Vince Young interception that gave the Jags the ball at th

Pretty good half all the way around there.  It is still evident that Vince Young needs to throw the ball better, and the Titans need help at receiver, but Chris Johnson looks like a stud.  The defense has been lights out.  ]

Not hot enough. I believe the forecasts indicate that kickoff [Sunday] will be right about what the temperature was today. But it was good to get back into it because we had a break the past couple weeks. We'll watch it and maybe adjust the next couple days but today was a good day.
