I'm going to make this quick - just wanted to mention that tonight's edition of Out the Other is going to be a Next Big Nashville preview show!  That means a full hour of bands you can check out at the festival this week, along with my picks for each night of NBN.

Word on the street is that a cadre of yellow vest-clad people has been going around tearing down show flyers from poles around Music Row and other parts of Nashville. Anyone with information on this incredibly lame activity is asked to come forward immediately.

Failing to heed my own advice about calling ahead before going to Edisto (see posting below), I arrived for dinner on Saturday night (after trying to make a reservation all day) and found the front door locked. A note explained that rain from the night before had damaged the A/C and the place would reopen Monday, Sept. 8.

Yo Bob, if you’re going to do a Sunday-morning local commentariat round table on national politics, we’d like to suggest you book panelists who have more to offer than just looking into the camera and making [bleep] up.

The MTV Video Music Awards is something that I looked forward to, course that was back in 1989 (the 2008 VMAs are 25 yrs old btw) but I think that's the last time they were any good. I'm sure others would disagree but this is the age of the internet so leave a comment because you can.

Okay, so in a matter of minutes now The Video Music Awards will officially start.

More new beer here in town, and we're here to give the full review. This time, it's Magic Hat Brewery from Vermont. Their #9 is extremely popular, and they've enjoyed quite a buzz as of late. This week, we check out three of their beers and give you our thoughts on whether they're a must-try or not so much.

Hey everyone... just writing a quick blog to let you know we made it to Cancun safe and sound and we're having a great time. I won't go into detail until we return, but suffice it to say it's been great. No serious sunburns, only a little rain and I'm getting used to having to tip for practically everything I do.

It's that time of year again... time for the second-biggest week in my musical life next to SXSW.  Yup, mid-September means it's time for Next Big Nashville once again - which is like our very own little SXSW, celebrating the best and rockin'est Nashville has to offer.
